Answer:

The result of the watergate scandal was the resignation of President Richard Nixon.

Explanation:

The Watergate case was the political scandal that led to the resignation of President Nixon. Watergate is the name of the complex that functions as the headquarters of the Democrat party.  The case began with the arrest of five men, who were caught installing spy equipment and photographing documents at Democrat headquarters.  The arrest came during the election campaign that brought Richard Nixon, of the Republican party, to power.

Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein of the Washington Post investigated the case and began to see connections between the Watergate case and the White House. Woodward and Bernstein discovered the name of one of the men on the payroll of the committee working on the president's election.  They also found that another detainee had received a $ 25,000 deposit. Reporters revealed in a series of stories that Nixon used undeclared money to spy on opponents and gain trumps for his campaign.

How can technology improve geographical representations
Papessa [141]

Technology has totally changed the way maps are made and geographical areas are represented, both regarding the calculation methods and the materials and technology used (nowadays we use databases instead of paper)

In times past, geographers had to rely on anachronistic tools to create maps. Therefore, the accuracy of their calculations was often very poor. Observation and information collected from travelers, sailors and merchants was usually the most common way to create maps, in the absence of more reliable sources. Nowadays, computerized mapping and satellites make it a lot easier to map and represent large geographical areas. In conclusion, the advance of technology has been fundamental for the creation of better and more accurate maps.

The Catholic Church, the most hierarchical of all Christian traditions, maintains a complex system of clergy and laity. Deacons, priests, and bishops comprise the ordained clergy, who are members of the diaconate, the presbyterate, and the episcopate. Among the hierarchy of bishops, there are metropolitans, archbishops, patriarchs, and the pope, who is the bishop of Rome. Cardinals are nearly always bishops, but that was not always the case. Some cardinals in the past were nonordained prelates. Unless they originally received Holy Orders to the diaconate, they were not part of the clergy and could not administer the sacraments of the church. Among those typically nonordained and considered to be part of the laity are nuns, friars, and religious brothers and sisters. As part of the reforms handed down by the Second Vatican Council (1963 to 1965), the laity has took a more active role in church activities and worship services (Mass). Before being ordained a priest, canon law currently requires education of two years of scholastic philosophy and four years of theology. Dogmatic and moral theology, the Holy Scriptures, and canon law must be studied at a seminary. As more stringent adherence to Catholic doctrine began to be required, the once-sanctioned, peculiar practices within monasteries and convents became limited. In contrast to others in the liturgical family, the Catholic clergy are not allowed to marry.

Did the colonies benefit from mercantilism? Why or why not?
san4es73 [151]

Answer:

The country enjoyed the greatest benefits of mercantilism between 1640 and 1660 when the prevailing economic wisdom suggested that the empire's colonies could supply raw materials and resources to the mother country and subsequently be used as export markets for the finished products.
