Jerry jogs the same round trip path everyday. He jogs 0.7 miles to the park and then 0.5 miles from the park to the playground.

After getting a drink at the playground, he then jogs back from the playground to his house. He jogs from the playground to the bridge 0.3 miles and then 0.9 miles from the bridge to his house. When Jerry completes his jog, how many miles is he from his house?

Is this a trick question, i assume you just add all the number getting 2.4 miles or he is 0 miles away from his house when he completes his jog

Answer:

He will be 0 miles from his house.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, he jogs the same round trip path.

Thus,

\text{His final distance from his house }=d_1-d_2

Where, d_1 = The distance he covered in first trip (towards playground)

d_2 = The distance he covered in second trip (towards house),

In his first trip,

He covered 0.7 miles to the park and then 0.5 miles from the park to the playground.

d_1 = 0.7 + 0.5 = 1.2\text{ miles},

In his second trip,

He covered 0.3 miles to the bridge and then 0.9 miles from the bridge to his house

d_2 = 0.3 + 0.9 = 1.2\text{ miles},

\text{His final distance from his house }=1.2-1.2=0\text{ miles}

Cot? 2x + cos2x + sin’ 2x = csc? 2x<br> Need help with 40
kkurt [141]

Answer:

\rule{100mm}{0.1mm}

    \cot^2(2x)+\cos^2(2x)+\sin^2(2x)=\csc^2(2x)

\dfrac{\cos^2(2x)}{\sin^2(2x)} +[(\cos^2(2x)+\sin^2(2x)]=\csc^2(2x)

                               \dfrac{\cos^2(2x)}{\sin^2(2x)} +1=\csc^2(2x)

                    \dfrac{\cos^2(2x)+\sin^2(2x)}{\sin^2(2x)}=\csc^2(2x)

                                    \dfrac{1}{sin^2(2x)} =\csc^2(2x)

                                     \boxed{\csc^2(2x)=\csc^2(2x)} ✔

A bat and a ball cost $1.10. The bat is $1 more than the ball. What does the ball cost?
mestny [16]
1.05 is the answer
Write an algebraic equation to solve
a= ball
b= bat
a + b = 1.10
Write out the equation for the ball (a = b + 1)
substitute the equation for the ball into the original equation
(b + 1) + b = 1.10
simplify the equation
2b + 1 = 1.10
Solve the equation
2b + 1 = 1.10
-1. -1
——————-
2b .1
/2 /2 = .05

Plug in your answer into the equation for the ball (a= b + 1)
a= .05 + 1
1.05 is your answer

Morgarella [4.7K]
First find the value of h, or the height using the pythagorean theorem.

13^2=15^2+h^2
289=225+h^2
h^2=64
h=8

Then use the formula bh/2 to find area of the triangle.

10*8/2=40
