To solve this, you need to divide 140 by 2.This means that she gave $70 to Austin, and now has the remaining $70.00.

Fraction is equivalent to a terminating decimal
11111nata11111 [884]
The best way to compare fractions would be to make them have like denominators.  We first , in this case, need to convert from decimal to fraction.

                 Converting decimals to fractions first requires an understanding of the decimal places that fall after the decimal.  One place after the decimal is the tenths place.  If you have a decimal that ends at one place after the decimal (or in the tenths place) it can be written as the number after the decimal in the top of the fraction and ten (tenths place) in the denominator.  ex.   .5 ends one place after the decimal and can be written as 5/10...(read as five tenths).

If a decimal ends at two places after the decimal...(ex.   .75)...it ends in the hundredths place, can be written as that number in the numerator and 100 in the denominator....(ex  75/100) and is read as seventy-five hundredths.

one place after the decimal is tenths (over 10), two places is hundredths (over 100), three places is thousandths (over 1000) , four places ten-thousandths (over 10000) and so on.

Because each decimal in your problem has a different amount of decimal places, it makes for different denominators. But, We can add a zero to the end of a decimal without changing it's value; if we add a zero to the end of .5 and make it .50 , we then can write it as 50/100 and would now have like denominators.

if .5 = .50 = 50/100 and .75 = 75/100

we now have the question what fractions can fall between 50/100 and 75/100.

That would be fractions such as 51/100, 52/100, 53/100.......74/100.

Write the equation of the line that passes through 7, 0 and is parallel to y = -3x + 4
Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

y = - 3x + 21

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

y = - 3x + 4 ← is in slope- intercept form

with slope m = - 3

Parallel lines have equal slopes , then

y = - 3x + c ← is the partial equation

To find c substitute (7, 0 ) into the partial equation

0 = - 21 + c ⇒ c = 0 + 21 = 21

y = - 3x + 21 ← equation of parallel line

A survey showed that 35% of the students prefer plain white milk over chocolate milk. If the school has 1200 students. How many
vodomira [7]

Answer:

The number of students who prefer chocolate milk is 780 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The total number of students in the school = 1200

The percentage of students who prefer plain white milk = 35 %

Let the number of students who prefer chocolate milk = x

Now, ∵ The percentage of students who prefer plain white milk = 35 %

∴ The percentage of students who prefer chocolate milk = 100 % - 35 % = 65%

So , As The number of  students who prefer chocolate milk = x

Or, 65 % of total number of students in school = x

So, x = \frac{65}{100} × 1200

or, x = \frac{65\times 1200 }{100}

∴  x = 780

So, the number of students who prefer chocolate milk = x = 780

And  students who prefer plain white milk = 1200 - x = 1200 - 780 = 420

Hence, The number of students who prefer chocolate milk is 780 . Answer
