What is the slope of the line represented by the equation

Mathematics
1 answer:
Pie3 years ago
7 0

Answer:

The slope is -3/4

Step-by-step explanation:

3x+4y = 8

We want to get the equation in slope intercept form

y = mx+b where m is the slope

Subtract 3x from each side

3x+4y-3x= -3x+8

4y = -3x+8

Divide by 4

4y/4 = -3x/4 +8/4

y = -3/4x +2

The slope is -3/4 and the y intercept is 2

Salsk061 [2.6K]

Important notes:

3 sides 1 angle - COSINE RULE

2 sides 2 angle - SINE RULE

since, the question wants to find the length of BC. In the end we will have 3 sides and 1 angle and use cosine rule

formula of cosine rule:

a² = b² + c² - 2bc Cos A° (to find the length)

Cos A° = b² + c² - a² / 2bc ( to find the angle, if there is given three sides and have to find the angle)

So just substitute,

a² = 13² + 15² - 2(13)(15) Cos 95°

a = 20.6 or 21

vaieri [72.5K]

Answer: Choice A.   1/64

Work Shown:

f(x) = 4^x

f(-3) = 4^(-3)

f(-3) = 1/(4^3) ... see note below

f(-3) = 1/64

Note: I'm using the rule that a^(-b) = 1/(a^b)

How do you find the area of the shaded sector of the circle? The radius is 10in and the sector is 45 degrees
Step2247 [10]

Given:

Radius of the circle = 10 in

Central angle of the sector = 45 degrees

To find:

The area of the sector.

Solution:

Area of a sector is

A=\dfrac{\theta}{360^\circ}\pi r^2

Where, \theta is the central angle in degrees.

Putting r=10 and \theta=45^\circ, we get

A=\dfrac{45^\circ}{360^\circ}\pi (10)^2

A=\dfrac{1}{8}\pi (100)

A=12.5\pi

Therefore, the area of the sector is 12.5π sq. inches.
