Y= -2x-5
Y=8x+5

^^ those two equations are basically the same so you put them side by side like:

-2x-5=8x+5

Subtract 5 on both sides which leads to:

-2x-10=8x

Add 2x both sides:

-10=10x

Divide both sides by 10

-1=x

5x - 2y = 10 x + 4y = 2
chubhunter [2.5K]

Answer:

(2, 0 )

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the 2 equations

5x - 2y = 10 → (1)

x + 4y = 2 → (2)

Multiplying (1) by 2 and adding to (2) will eliminate the y- term

10x - 4y = 20 → (3)

Add (2) and (3) term by term to eliminate y

11x + 0 = 22

11x = 22 ( divide both sides by 11 )

x = 2

Substitute x = 2 into either of the 2 equations and solve for y

Substituting into (1)

5(2) - 2y = 10

10 - 2y = 10 ( subtract 10 from both sides )

- 2y = 0, so

y = 0

solution is (2, 0 )

Is the right answer is 110
taurus [48]

Answer: 140

Step-by-step explanation:

Angles 3 and 4 have equivalent degree values. Set them equal to each other: x + 30 = 2x - 80

Solve for x: add 80 to both sides

x + 110 = 2x

Then subtract x from both sides

110 = x. This is x, not the final answer. The question asks for the measure of angle 3.

To get the measure of angle 3, plug in 110 for x.

Instead of x + 30, calculate 110 + 30.

So, angle 3 is 140 degrees.
