In Germany, people would refer to it as "Drittes Reich", which is translated in English to "Third Reich" - and I think this is the answer you are looking for, it's very widely used.

Reich means "Empire" , so it could also be translated to the "third empire" but this is not usual.

What was the significance of a number of conservative democrats changing their party affiliation beginning in 1964?
Vaselesa [24]
Democrats had been losing elections in what had long been considered solid Democratic territory in the South.  Lyndon B. Johnson, a Democrat who took up the presidency after John F. Kennedy was assassinated, had become associated in the minds of voters with the civil rights movement. The civil rights movement aimed to give black Americans equality.  This did not sit well with white voters in the South.  In the 1964 presidential election, the Republican candidate, Barry Goldwater, won the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina.  Nevertheless, Johnson prevailed and won the election.  But it showed conservative Democrats were willing to shift to the Republican party if they felt it more closely aligned with their views.

Napoleon was a child of the Enlightenment."" Assess the validity of the statement. Use examples referring to specific aspects of
marissa [1.9K]
An example of Napoleon being a child of the Enlightenment is his Napoleonic Code (1804) which contained ideals such as legal equality and religious toleration (both Enlightenment based).

However, an example of Napoleon not being a child of the Enlightenment is the Consulate (1799-1804). The consulate was a representative government, like a Republic. Napoleon promised male suffrage and legislature within this government, but in reality he has full power. In addition to this, he censored the press to his will—not a Enlightenment action.

(You could go both ways with this argument, but those are the examples I could provide, there could be more.)
