Answer:

Explanation:

Calcium bicarbonate  dissolved in hard water can easily be removed by heating the hard water . On heating , it decomposes to give calcium carbonate which is insoluble and therefore can be filtered out .

Ca( HCO₃)₂  =  CaCO₃ + CO₂ + H₂O.

In this way hardness of water is removed .

The atomic and mass numbers for four different atoms are given below. Which two are isotopes of the same element?
Dmitrij [34]
The correct option is B AND C.
An isotope is defined as two or more forms of the same element which contain equal number of protons but different number of neutrons in their nuclei, hence they differ in relative atomic mass but not in chemical properties.
Thus, isotopes has the same number of protons but differ in number of neutrons. Due to this fact, isotopes always have the same atomic number but different mass number. You will notice that the atomic number given for elements B and C are the same [101].

The reason for using 1-propanol as the solvent of choice for recrystallization is that triphenylphosphine oxide is more soluble
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

Hydrogen bonding is a bond that exists between hydrogen and a highly electronegative element such as oxygen, nitrogen, fluorine etc.

The greater solubility of the triphenylphosphine oxide owes to the hydrogen bonded interaction between it and the 1-propanol.

The alkene lacks such hydrogen bonded interaction because it does not have a highly electronegative atom in its structure.

Hence, triphenylphosphine oxide is removed based on its polarity and hydrogen bonding ability.

Copper + silver nitrate → copper(II) nitrate + silver<br> (convert to formula)
kiruha [24]

Answer:

Cu(s)+2AgNo^3(ag) \rightarrow Cu(No)_3^2(aq)+2Ag(s)

Explanation:

The given reaction has been occurred when the copper being more reactive than that of the silver. Which will subsequently displace the silver cations present in it, (by reducing it to the elemental metal). Copper being itself will get oxidized to the copper (II) cation forming Cu^{2+} and dissolve in the solution. So, the final product formed with the silver metal will start precipitation out and giving the copper (II)  nitrate as resultant in the solution.
