Really ?

(8 feet) + (15 feet) + (15 feet) + (21 feet) =

(8 + 15 + 15 + 21) (feet) =  59 feet.

The answer is the same even if it's 30 gauge wire with orange insulation.  Or any other gauge, with any other color ... even bare wire !

Write the final equation using the slope-intercept form perpendicular to 3y = x − 4 and passes through the point (−2, 1)
stealth61 [152]

Answer:

y=-3x-5

Step-by-step explanation:

given equation:

3y=x-4

slope intercept form is y=mx+b

(m is the slope, b is the y intercept)

divide by 3

y=1/3x-4/3

perpendicular lines have slopes that are negative and reciprocal. If you multiply them together, the result is -1.

so to find the slope of the perpendicular line, use this equation:

1/3m=-1

multiply by 3

m=-3

the slope of the new line is -3.

here is our equation so far:

y=-3x+b

now, we need to find b.

Since the equation of the line passes through the point (-2,1) we can substitute that into the equation to find b

1=-3(-2)+b

multiply

1=6+b

subtract 6

-5=b

so the line is y=-3x-5

Hope this helps!
