Does increasing the size of an axial substituent always result in higher relative strain energies for the axial conformation

It is not necessary that the increase in the axial substituent size always enhances the strain energy for the axial conformation. In certain cases, the size of substituent increases due to which the bond length between the carbon and substituent also enhances.

In this case, the relative strain energies for axial conformation does not increases. The example is iodocyclohexane.

Answer:

There is no need to increase the size of the axial substituent, since the strain energy in the axial conformation increases. This is why, sometimes, the size of the substituent increases, where the length of the bond between the carbon atom and the substituent increases, however, the deformation energy of the axial conformation does not increase.

How are sex-linked pedigrees different from autosomal pedigrees?
LenaWriter [7]
Autosomal traits would show Mendelian inheritance pattern but sex-linked traits would show criss cross inheritance.

Sex-linked trait is often controlled by gene present only on X chromosome, hence no corresponding allele is present on Y chromosome.

Which of the following undercut farmers in developing countries?
stira [4]

Answer: Might it be B? Either B or C.

Explanation: I would suggest B since developing country farmers suffer when other countries export cheap foods to them. This creates competition and can hurt the farmers’ source of income, essentially undercutting them. If it isn’t B, it has to be C since I got D wrong :)

In photosynthesis, the electrons come from water and end up in____________
Lilit [14]

Answer:

it ends in the creation of oxygen from carbon dioxide

Explanation:

Photosynthesis occurs in two stages. The first, specifically luminous or photochemical, depends directly on the light received, the energy of the solar rays between the wavelengths corresponding to the violet, blue, orange and red light. This energy produces the excitation of electrons and causes the breakdown of water molecules, so that oxygen is released and the rest of the energy is transmitted, generating molecules of ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) and NADPH (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate ). These components are used in the next stage, which is known as the dark phase because it does not depend directly on light. This second stage develops in the stroma, the internal aqueous space of the chloroplast. There the energy in the form of ATP and NADPH produced in the photodependent phase is used to fix the carbon dioxide as organic carbon, by means of the Calvin cycle. This consists of a series of chemical reactions in which phosphoacylglycerides are produced with which the plant cell produces nutrients. The process resulted in a compound similar to sugar called glucose (C6 H12 O6).

The phenomenon of photosynthesis carried out by all the terrestrial and aquatic plants of the planet, and also the algae and some bacteria, resulting essential for life on Earth. By absorbing solar energy and carbon dioxide and returning oxygen and carbohydrates, the plant kingdom will become a fundamental part of the natural cycles of energy, carbon and oxygen.
