The main message of the film of “12 Years a Slave” is the cruelty of slavery as an institution. The director Steve Mc Queen´s portrayal  of  mistreatment forces audiences to confront it in long uninterrupted scenes that force us to feel the full impact of human cruelty. Rather than explaining things overtly through dialogue, the characters’ behavior tell us of the  the subservience to survive slaves had to endure.

The transition from individual production to mass production and the convergence of prices of goods and materials made transactions considerab

During the 1960s, the New Left was a political movement that was part of the student movement. It wanted participatory democracy, or direct individual participation in the decisions that affected the student's lives. It was like a battle cry of the student movement. Tom Hayden was a key figure in this movement. College students involved in this movement fought for civil rights and university reforms as well as protested against the Vietnam War.
