Segment KL is tangent to ⊙ J. If KL¯¯¯¯¯¯≅JK¯¯¯¯¯, what is m∠J? The image is of a circle with centre P and having a sector KJM.

KL is tangent to the circle. Points J, M and L are joined to form a horizontal line and thus a triangle KJL is formed.

If cos a = 3/5 in the first quadrant, what does cot a equal
Butoxors [25]
Given that cos a = 3/5 and it is in the first quadrant :
then:
a=arccos 3/5
but
cot θ=1/tan θ
thus to evaluate our vale we shall obtain the value for height since
adjacent=3
hypotenuse=5
thus
using Pythagorean theorem:
c²=a²+b²
hence
5²=3²+b²
b²=25-9=16
b=4
thus
tan θ=opposite/adjacent
tan a=4/3
thus
cot a=1/(4/3)=3/4

Indicate the method you would use to prove the two 's . If no method applies, enter "none".
LenKa [72]

The simpliest way is to use the AAS Postulate.

AAS Postulate: If two angles and the non-included side of one triangle are equal to the corresponding angles and side of another triangle, the triangles are congruent.

From the diagram you have:

1. one pair of angles with measure 40°;

2. one pair of angles with measure 60°;

3. the non-included side of one triangle is congruent to the non-included side of another triangle (their lengths are 10).

Answer: correct choice is D (AAS)
