Decomposers break down dead plant animals, thus giving nutrients to those living things surrounding. If decomposers werent present, plants wouldnt get their nutrients therefore not being able to grow and make food. Also, dead matter and waste would be scattered around, not having any decomposers do the job. So, the environment would be damaged. As for your mold question, i do not know the answer, sorry.

cell membranes are made of phospholipids which form a hydrophobic barrier. How does water pass through the cell membrane?
Alla [95]
Water is a small molecule that easily diffuses through a cell membrane despite the lipid tails. The diffusion of water is what we call “osmosis”. Oxygen is a small molecule and it is also nonpolar, so it easily passes through a cell membrane.

It is able to pass through because of the high osmotic pressure difference between the inside and outside of the cell.

Most of the water passes through channels called “aquaporins”.

Describe the relationship between bird species richness and tree species richness
telo118 [61]
They are directly related. The more different trees, the more different birds because not all birds like the same trees:

Some like higher trees to build higher nests, others like lower trees, some like the leaves of some trees useful, some live in the trees that give them fruits, other in trees where many insects go, etc.

Hope it helped!

kykrilka [37]

Answer:

~3 times...

Explanation:

Well...the data provided by different institutes of oncology were highly random both in US and Hungary. but by using Chi-Square probability analysis in both of the countries the ration comes as 2.87:1 that means residents of US are 3 times more likely to die from breast cancer than Hungarians. A 5% confidence interval was used in this test with percentages 31.8% for us and 11.9% for Hungarians.
