Hello, I will try to make this as easy to understand as possible.

First, we see that there are 12 people in the Book Club, but as we see in the graph...

There are 2 persons that have read 0-2 books.

There are 3 persons that have read 3-5 books.

There are 5 persons that have read 6-9 books.

There are 2 persons that have read 9-11 books.

Since the question asks what fraction of the members read fewer than six books, we know the range would have to be between 0-6.

So the ones that are valid in this case are the 0-2 and 3-5 books, and we know that is 2+3, which equals 5, now, we just divide between 12.

The answer would be 5/12
