Either one! If it is a long-term goal, it is to most likely have an effect on you for most of your life example: buying a house, going to college, etc.

A short term goal is something you could reach in just a few months and it will probably not have the same effect as the long term ones are, however some do. Example: changing your diet, eat healthier, etc.
