I have a container of peanuts and I give 1/4 to my sister and 1/3 to another sister. What fraction do I keep?
Setler [38]
Find a common denominator.
we'll pick 12 so...
1/4 = 3/12
1/3 = 4/12
So you gave your sisters
3/12 + 4/12 = 7/12
You keep 12/12 - 7/12 = 5/12
