Answer:

C. The compromise of 1850 ended the Missouri Compromise.

Explanation:

In the missouri Compromise (which created in 1820), both the Abolitionist and the pro-slavery citizens agreed on the division of united States into three territories.

- Free-State territory, where slavery was banned. (mostly on the northern part of united states)

- Slave-state territory, where slavery was allowed(mostly on the southern part of United States)

- Unassigned territories where the people could vote on themselves whether slavery was allowed or banned (This include the western territories that was acquired from Louisiana Praise.

After the compromise of 1850, there was huge changes in the division of this territory and effectively ended the division that agreed upon in the Missouri Compromise.

The large majority of the unassigned territory from the Louisiana purchase now transformed into the free-state territory. This compromise gave a lot more power for the abolitionist.

The Civil War was a monumental event in American history. The legacy of the war is still present today. One of the most signific
never [62]

Answer:

The stories we tell about the past can have a profound effect on the present. Our choices about how to remember the past and how we use historical symbols can divide communities and also draw them together. In this way, our relationship to the past has the power to transform our present and our future.

In 2015, the decades-long debate over a symbol from the American past intensified. On June 17, 2015, a 21-year-old white man shot and killed nine African American worshippers in the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina. The gunman said that he hoped the shooting would ignite a race war in the United States. Investigators later found that the shooter had detailed his racist beliefs on the Internet and posted photos of himself with the Confederate flag.

These photos ignited debate across the United States about the meaning and power of historical symbols. In the United States, the Confederate battle flag from the Civil War has long been a divisive symbol of the country’s history. Most historians maintain that the central issue of the Civil War, which was fought in the 1860s, was slavery; the Confederate states separated from the rest of the country because their leaders believed that the federal government would soon abolish slavery throughout the nation. Yet many Americans today continue to feel an affinity for the battle flag of the Confederate army, the forces that fought to defend the practice of slavery.

How have internationalists tried to resolve child soldiers?
madam [21]

Internationalists have been fighting for over 4 decades to protect children from becoming soldiers. There have been many court cases and laws enacted to prevent exploitation of children.

Laws have prohibits military recruitment for people under 15, and the International Criminal Court now recognizes breaking this law as a war crime.

OPAC (Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child) focuses on ending children soldiers. This treaty prohibits recruiting anyone under the age of 18, or even asking them to engage in any hostile activities.

Many states have signed OPAC, and other international laws are helping in this effort, such as the International Labour Organization and the African Union's Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child.
