Calculate the perimeter and area of this shape.
Bond [772]

area = 25.5 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

i have shown in the image you have to rotate it to see how i worked the area out

i am very sorry i cant work the perimeter out since i have no idea what the length of the two sides of the triangle are . if you need help on understanding how i worked out the area please let me know .

hopefully i was able to help you in half of the question i am sorry for not helping on the perimeter :)

Can someone help me with this? its solving systems by substitution
yKpoI14uk [10]
Answer: x = 1 and y = 2

Given:
y = -3x + 5
5x - 4y = -3

Since we are given y, let’s sub it in the second equation.

5x - 4(-3x + 5) = -3
5x + 12x - 20 = -3
17x = 17
x = 1

After finding x, we can now find y.

5(1) - 4y = -3
-4y = -8
y = 2

Checking:

y = -3x + 5
2 = -3(1) + 5
2 = 2

5x - 4y = -3
5(1) - 4(2) = -3
-3 = -3

klasskru [66]

Given:

Point B has coordinates (4,1).

The x-coordinate of point A is -4.

The distance between point A and point B is 10 units.

To find:

The possible coordinates of point A.

Solution:

Let the y-coordinate of point A be y. Then the two points are A(-4,y) and B(4,1).

Distance formula:

D=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

The distance between point A and point B is 10 units.

\sqrt{(4-(-4))^2+(1-y)^2}=10

Taking square on both sides, we get

(8)^2+(1-y)^2=100

(1-y)^2=100-64

(1-y)^2=36

Taking square root on both sides, we get

(1-y)=\pm \sqrt{36}

-y=\pm 6-1

y=1\mp 6

y=1-6 and y=1+6

y=-5 and y=7

Therefore, the possible coordinates of point A are either (-4,-5) or (-4,7).
