3x+5y=10
how to solve for 3x-5y = 9
where; x= -1, 0, 1

(x=-1, y= - 2.4) ;            ( x=0, y = -1.8)            (x=1, y= - 1.2)
in x = -1                            in x = 0                       in x = 1
3 (-1)- 5y = 9               3(0)- 5y = 9                3 (1)- 5y = 9
       -3-5y = 9                      -5y =   9                     3-5y = 9
           -5y = 9+3                  -5      -5                        5y = 9-3
           -5y =  12                  (cancel -5)                    5y =  6
           -5      -5                     y= -1.8                            5    -5
(cancel -5)                                                           (cancel -5)
         y= -2.4                                                                y= -1.

3x + 5y = 10 Subtract 3x from both sides. 5y = -3x + 10 Divide both sides by 5. y = -3/5x + 2
