Both prose and informal speech are characterized for not following particular rules as poetry does and for having a natural flow of speech; however, they have some defining characteristics and their four major differences are the following:

 1. Prose expresses more complete ideas than informal speech, and consequently, prose are more complex than informal speeches.
 2. Prose, such as reports, newspaper articles, philosophical texts, and novels, aims to give readers a clear understanding of ideas while informal speeches do not tend to have that same purpose.
 3. Prose is more carefully organized and thought while informal speeches are more unpremeditated
 4. Prose may appeal to the emotions of the readers but it usually does not express the emotions of the author whereas informal speeches usually express the emotions of the author or speaker and sometimes appeal to the emotions of an audience.

An allusion is a direct or indirect reference to something historical, literacy, religious, or mythical. Allusions can help peop
Neporo4naja [7]

This question is missing the answer options. I have found them online. They are the following:

A. "She reached the end of the street and made one majestic leap..."

B. "The stray cat stalked down the street."

C. "Her walk was proud..."

D. "... she settled over a meal of broken bones, a back alley Cleopatra."

Answer:

The detail that contains an allusion is:

D. "... she settled over a meal of broken bones, a back alley Cleopatra."

Explanation:

As is explained in the instructions, an allusion is a reference to a famous character or person, one whose story - true or fictional - is well known.

In the passage we are analyzing here, the allusion takes place when the author mentions Cleopatra, a famous queen from Ancient Egypt. By comparing the cat to Cleopatra, the narrator is attributing characteristics of the queen to the animal - dignity, pride, beauty, elegance. The allusion makes is possible for the author to not have to say those words. Since everyone knows who Cleopatra was and what traits and behaviors she was famous for, by simply alluding to her, the author conveys a deeper description.

Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer:

Anaya’s tone is easy-going, which reflects his lack of concern about the topic.

Explanation:

May I just say NEVER take the soul out of your poetry! That's what makes it unique and one of a kind. If people don't get that, well too bad for them.
