hello!

so area of a square is calculated by this equation

s^2 = a

which means if you multiply two sides together you get the area

what you want to do now is to find a side of the square

plug in the 900 square meters

s^2 = 900

square root both sides to isoate the variable

s = 30 meters

this means that one side is 30 meters

since it is a SQUARE all four sides are equal

just multiply 30 by 4 and that will get the amount of fencing you'll need

30*4 = 1200 meters

you will need 1200 meters of fencing

WAIT

there is a possibility that one side of the house has already enclosed one side of the fence

so if that's the deal then

30*3 = 900meters

IF ONE SIDE OF THE HOUSE IS ALREADY ENLCOSING ONCE SIDE THEN YOU WILL NEED 900 meters of fencing.

The population of a certain country is expected to double every 32 years. The population of this country was 4.2 million people
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

2.2%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the following :

Population in year 2000 (A) = 4.2 million

Expected population every 32 years = 2 *A

The growth rate per year =?

The population figure after 32 years = (2 * 4.2 million) = 8.4 million

Using the exponential growth formula :

P(t) = A × (1 + r)^t

(1 + r) = g = Total growth percent

A = Initial population

t = time

P(t) = 8.4 million

8,400,000 = 4,200,000 × g^32

g^32 = (8400000/4200000)

g^32 = 2

Taking the root of 32 on both sides

g = 1.02189714865

g = (1 + r)

1.02189714865 = 1 + r

r = 1.02189714865 - 1

r = 0.02189714865

.rate = 0.02189714865 * 100

= 2.18971486541%

= 2.2% ( nearest tenth)

Find MN to the nearest tenth?

A. 11.34
B. 16.1
C. 39.6
D. 23.8
Nana76 [90]

As the question say this problem is a practice of the law of cosines!

The law of cosine: c^2=a^2+b^2-2ab*cos*c for any side a, b and c

The law can also be written as c=sqrt(a^2+b^2-2abcosc)

Now use this formula!(note cos 100 degrees is about 0.8623)

c=sqrt(15^2+16^2-2*15*16*cos100)

solving this we can MN is about 23.75

Round this to the nearest tenths now!

We get 23.8!

Thus the answer is D

Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line with slope -2/3
and y-intercept -4.
Natali [406]

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

slope (m) = - 2/ 3

Y-intercept (c) = - 4

Now writing in Slope intercept form

y = mx + c

y =( - 2/3) x - 4

Hope it will help :)
