This vertical marketing system (VMS).

Further Explanation

This vertical marketing system (VMS) consists of producers, wholesalers, and retailers who are an integrated system and they work together. There are three types of vertical marketing channels (VMS), namely corporate, administrative and contractual.

 • VMS Company combines a series of stages of production and distribution under sole ownership. Vertical integration can be achieved by backward or forward integration. An example of a company VMS is Giant Food Stores, which operates ice-making facilities, bottling soft drinks and bakeries and then supplies Giant's stores. So they make and also have shops to sell their products.
 • The VMS administration coordinates a series of stages of production and distribution not through ordinary ownership but through the size and power of one party. So a strong producer can maintain strong cooperation so he has the support of the seller. For example the Kodak brand, Gillette is an example of a product that quite dominates the market.
 • VMS contracts are independent companies at various levels of production and distribution that combine programs based on agreements that are more profitable than doing it yourself. Enterprise VMS is divided into three types, namely: voluntary networks sponsored by large traders.

The third VMS contract is a franchise organization. The development of the franchise is very fast at this time as many fast-food restaurants originating from abroad. This franchise has three forms, namely a manufacturer-sponsored retailer franchise, such as Ford which gives dealers licenses to sell cars. Second is the producer-sponsored wholesaler franchise, for example, coca-cola, which gives its bottling rights to buy its syrup to be sold to local retailers. The third retailer franchise is a service company sponsored.
