Answer:

  5x +y = 34

Step-by-step explanation:

Since a point and slope are given, it is convenient to start with point-slope form, then rearrange the equation to put it into standard form.

For slope m through point (h, k), the point-slope form of the equation of a line is usually written ...

  y -k = m(x -h)

For m=-5 and (h, k) = (6, 4), the equation is ...

  y -4 = -5(x -6)

  y -4 = -5x +30 . . . . . eliminate parentheses

__

Standard form looks like ...

  ax + by = c

where a > 0 and GCD(a, b, c) = 1. Here's how we can get there.

  5x +y -4 = 30 . . . . . . add 5x

  5x +y = 34 . . . . . . . . . add 4 to get standard form.

Nolan is deciding between two truck rental companies. Company A charges an initialfee of $90 for the rental plus $2 per mile dri
kotegsom [21]

first we writte the information they are giving to us:

For company A:

initial fee = $90

rent per mile = $2

For combany B:

initial fee = $50

rent per mile = $3

Now for company A the equation that represent the charge in one mile will be: (where n is the number of miles)

\begin{gathered} A=90+2(n) \\ A=90+2(1) \\ A=90 \end{gathered}

And for company B:

\begin{gathered} B=50+3n \\ B=50+3(1) \\ B=53 \end{gathered}

Now to determine the number miles driven, that would make the cost of each company the same, we have to make A = B

\begin{gathered} A=B \\ 90+2n=50+3n \\  \end{gathered}

and finaly we can solve for n

\begin{gathered} 90-50=3n-2n \\ 40=n \end{gathered}

so if they drive for 40 miles the will pay the same

Write an equation that you can use to find the number of refills Keith bought. A restaurant sells a coffee refill mug for $6.75.
Evgesh-ka [11]

Answer:

<h2> 6.75+1.25x=31.75</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

let x be the number of refils

also given is that the cost of one refill is $1.25

hence the total refil will be 1.25x

given that the cost of a mug is $6.75

6.75+1.25x=31.75

therefore  the expression that can be used to solve for the number of refills is

6.75+1.25x=31.75
