Which type of location produces some of the most explosive volcanoes?
STatiana [176]

C

A convergent boundary is where two or more tectonic plate collides. One plate, the denser one and usually the oceanic plate,  is subducted under the less dense plate, usually the continental plate.

Explanation:

There is enormous stress in a convergent boundary due to enormous frictional stress as the plates try to slip past each other. In the process, the plates will acquire fissures. As the subducted plate dives into the mantle, it begins to melt and the molten rock rises forcing its way up through the fissures with enormous pressure.  When this molten rock breaches the surface, the great pressure releases and the magma is spewed violently into the atmosphere.
