What happened to Chuck Bell? Why?
TEA [102]

Answer:

Dad is a former superstar basketball player who now works as a stay-at-home dad. He was a phenom in college, played exceptionally well in the Olympics, and led his European League team to victory as a rookie. He was invited to try out for the LA Lakers. However, he declined the opportunity because, in order to keep playing basketball, he would have been required to have knee surgery. Mr. Bell is deathly afraid of doctors. Despite not trying out for the Lakers, he’s semi-famous, particularly amongst the basketball aficionados who pester him for autographs.

Tresset [83]

Esquivel is trying to share the lessons she learned at the hearth with her daughter but the daughter has such a different response to them from Esquivel because she’s growing up in a different social and historical environment.

“At the Hearth” is the first chapter from Laura Esquivel's book “Between Two Fires: Intimate Writings on Life, Love, Food & Flavor”. The stories of Laura Esquivel are surrounded by magical realism and the truths which are beautiful and astonishing at the same time. She tells the simple truths which are so common to be noticed. She makes the readers feel the same as her perception towards life.
