First you want to reduce the brackets
Next you want to factor out the common number 3
Next you want to factor 20 + x^3 + 11x - 8x^2 by using the polynomial division method/technique
Lastly you just factor x^2 - 9x + 20 to get the answer.

Yes you are correct, the solutions are 1, 4, and 5.

The measure of <1 = 20x + 21 and the measure of <2 = 30x - 29.
geniusboy [140]

Answer:

Both equal 121 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

Vertical angles are equal, and  and 2 are indeed vertical angles.  They are the "top" and "bottom" of the x formed.  So you can use this.

angle 1 = angle 2

20x + 21 = 30x - 29

50 = 10x

5 = x

So just plug this in.

20x + 21

20(5) + 21

121

30x - 29

30(5) - 29

121

So both are 121.

Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line that has a slope of -4/5 and passes through (0, 7).
patriot [66]

Answer:

A. y = -\frac{4}{5}x + 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope intercept form is y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept

<em>It gives us the slope, so we can plug that in:</em> y = -\frac{4}{5}x + b

<em>Next, it gives us a point, so we can plug in the x and y into our equation and solve for b when (x, y)</em>

y = -\frac{4}{5}x + b

7 =  -\frac{4}{5}(0) + b

7 = b

<em>Last, complete our equation:</em>

y = -\frac{4}{5}x + b

y = -\frac{4}{5}x + 7

Solve the system of equations using the linear combination method {5p-3q=-39 -2p-3q=3
VikaD [51]

Answer:

p=-6

q=3

Step-by-step explanation:

5p-3q=-39

-2p-3q=3

Multiply the second equation by -1

2p +3q = -3

Add the first equation and the modified second equation

5p-3q=-39

2p +3q = -3

---------------------

7p = -42

Divide by 7

7p/7 = -42/7

p = -6

Now we can find q

2p +3q = -3

2(-6) +3q = -3

-12 +3q = -3

Add 12 to each side

-12+12 +3q = -3+12

3q = 9

Divide by 3

3q/3 = 9/3

q=3
