A plasmid vector has a gene for erythromycin resistance (Ery") and a gene for ampicillin resistance (Amp"). The Ery gene is cut

with restriction enzyme, and donor DNA treated with the same enzyme is added along with ligase. To find cells transformed by a vector containing the donor DNA insert, what antibiotic resistance phenotypes will you select and screen for?

Answer:

Amp resistant phenotypes

Explanation:

Insertion of the desired gene sequence within the sequence of an antibiotic resistance gene makes the transformed cells to lose the resistance against that particular antibiotic. To create a recombinant plasmid vector, the sequence of the gene for erythromycin resistance was cut with the restriction enzyme. This would cause a loss of resistance against erythromycin in the transformed cells. Since the ampicillin resistance gene was intact, the transformed gene would exhibit resistance against ampicillin. Therefore, the transformed cells would be ampicillin-resistant and erythromycin sensitive.

Pepsin, an enzyme found in the stomach, acts best at a ph of about 2, but it is not active at a ph of 7. why
ipn [44]
It is only active at a pH of around 2 because that is around the same pH as the gastric juices in the stomach which is where pepsin is used to break down proteins.

Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

Connective tissue that are found in muscle are of 3 types-Endomysium,Perimysium and epimysium.

Explanation:

Endomysium is called as areolar connective tissue that have nerve and capillaries.

It attaches  with epimysium and perimysium and form collagen fibers of tendons.

Perimysium is  a sheath of connective tissue that transmit lateral contractile movement.

Epimysium is the layer that is formed by  irregular connective tissue .

This layer covers the muscle and provide  protection from friction against muscle and bone.

This layer contain fascia and other connective tissue.
