The cell wall is an extracellular envelope present in all vegetables and some bacteria, fungi and protozoa. Its composition varies according to the habit of each organism in the face of evolutionary and adaptive processes.
This structure makes morphological alterations of the organisms impossible, due to their semi-rigid character, that is, the cells are unable to change their shape as a result of the spatial impediment limited by the rigidity of the cell wall. In addition, the cell wall is responsible for the rigidity of plant cells (and the microorganisms that have it).
