Answer:

The Backcountry of the Southern colonies was known for its remote and undeveloped region. The Backcountry lies in the Appalachian mountain very different from the colonies. The settlers who settle here were Protestants, owned small-farm and became the non-slave communities because they were not financially well off like the Southern colonies.

Therefore, some settlers did own slaves in the Appalachian region but were not greater in number.

What can occur in mid latitude zone that impacts climate and weather patterns
ziro4ka [17]

Mid latitude zones are the regions of the Earth that lie between 23°26'22" and 66°33'39" north, and between 23°26'22" and 66°33'39" south. There are four types of midlatitude climates: mediterranean, humid subtropical, marine west coast and humid continental.

Some of the most significant characteristics of these regions are the winds. As they are located between the tropics and the polar circles, they get both cold and warm air masses, which causes fast-changing weather.

They also experience weather fronts, which is a boundary that separates two masses of different air. It can cause wind shifts and occasionally rain, thunderstorms or fog.

Finally, they can receive extratropical cyclones, causing anything from mild rain to blizzards and tornadoes.
