2H₂  +  O₂  ------->  2H₂O

mole of H₂  =   \frac{mass of H_{2} }{molar  mass  of  H_{2}}

                   =  \frac{1.40 g}{(2  * 1 g / mol}

                   =  0.7 mol

mole ratio of H₂  :  H₂O
                  =  1   :    1

∴ if mole  of H₂O  = 0.7 mol
 then mole of water  =  0.7 mol

Thus:
  mass of water  =  mole x  Mr
                           =  0.7 mol  x  ((2 x 1) + (1 x 16))
                           =  12.6 g of water vapour

Determine the name of the following compound Fe(OH) 3 , Provide explanation of how you determined the name, including the type o
stepan [7]

Answer:

1. Iron(iii) hydroxide

2. It is a base

Explanation:

To determine the name of the compound, we must find the oxidation number Fe in the compound since the oxidation number of O is —2 in all its compound except for peroxide where it —1 and the oxidation number of Hydrogen is always +1 in all its compounds except for hydrides where it is —1. The oxidation number of Fe can calculated as follows:

Fe(OH)3 = 0

O = —2

H = +1

Fe =?

Fe + 3( —2 + 1) = 0

Fe + 3(—1) = 0

Fe —3 = 0

Fe = 3

The oxidation number of Fe in Fe(OH)3 is 3.

Therefore, the name of Fe(OH)3 is Iron(iii) hydroxide

Fe(OH)3 is a base since it contains the OH group

Answer:

an atom is the smallest unit of matter or a substance.

Explanation:

the structure of the

atom consists of electrons, protons, neutrons) which makes up the nucleus is more than a hundred thousand times smaller than it's atom but makes up 99.9% of the mass of the atom.

the protons are the positively charged particles. The neutrons are the negatively charged particles. The electrons are the negatively charged particles.

the first energy level consists of two electrons. the second energy level consists of eight electrons. the 3 energy level consists of eighteen electrons. the 4 energy level consists of thirty two electrons.

Please help this is so hard 1: Why is the sky blue?
kolezko [41]

Answer:

1. As white light passes through our atmosphere, tiny air molecules cause it to 'scatter'. Therefore, blue light is scattered more than red light and the sky appears blue during the day.

2. We can see the moon during the day for the same reason we see the moon at night. The surface of the moon is reflecting the sun's light into our eyes. When we see the moon during the day it's because the moon is in the right spot in the sky and it's reflecting enough light to be as bright, or brighter, than the sky.

3. At eight pounds per gallon, that's another 38,593,169,564 pounds of water in the air. Add it all up, and the total weight of our sky is 12,107,415,382,493,169,564 pounds, more than 12 quintillion pounds!

4. 5.972 × 10^24 kg

5. Four forces keep an airplane in the sky. They are lift, weight, thrust and drag. Lift pushes the airplane up.

6. Water is wet, in the sense of being a liquid which flows easily, because its viscosity is low, which is because its molecules are rather loosely joined together.

7. Rainbows are formed when sunlight is scattered from raindrops into the eyes of an observer. The lower the sun in the sky the more of an arc of a rainbow the viewer will see. Rain, fog or some other source of water droplets must be in front of the viewer.

8. Birds can sit on power lines and not get electric shocks because the electricity is always looking for a way to get to the ground. The birds are not touching the ground or anything in contact with the ground, so the electricity will stay in the power line.
