Answer:

The new radius r' should be 1.1 times the original planned radius ( rp ).

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution:-

- We will assume the geometry of the pond is modeled as a cylinder with base modeled as a circle with radius ( r ) and the planned height of the ( hp = 6 feet ).

- The volume V of a cylindrical pond is given by:

                              V = π*r^2*h

- Talisa had planned a depth hp = 6 feet, The planned volume with planned radius ( rp ) was:

                              Vp = π*rp^2*6

- However, she hit a rock at h' = 5 feet, So what change must he make to the radius of the pond such that she achieves the planned volume of the pond.

                              V =  π*r'^2*h'

Where, r' is the new radius of the pond:

                             Vp = V

                             π*rp^2*6 =  π*r'^2*5

                             ( r' / rp )^2 = 6 / 5

                             r' / rp = √6 / 5

                             r' / rp = 1.09544

                            r' = 1.1*rp

- The new radius r' should be 1.1 times the original planned radius ( rp ).

xeze [42]

Answer:

9 fruit baskets.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Steve sold 36 fruit baskets for a school fundraiser.

Evie sold 25% of the number of baskets that Steve sold.

<u>Question asked:</u>

How many fruit baskets did Evie sell?

Solution:

<u>As given that Evie sold 25% of the number of baskets that Steve sold.</u>

Number of baskets sold by Evie = 25% of 36

                                                      =\frac{25}{100}\times36\\\\  =\frac{900}{100}\\ \\=9

Thus, 9 fruit baskets sold by Evie.

Answer:

The rock hits the ground between <u>2</u> seconds and <u>2.5</u> seconds after it is dropped

Step-by-step explanation:

The given table is presented as follows;

\begin{array}{ccl}t&h(t)&Description\\0&20&Initial \ height\\0.5&18.8&Rock \ in \ downward \ motion\\1&15.1&\\1.5&9&\\2&0.4&The \ height \ just \ before \ the \ rock \ hits \ the \ ground \\2.5&-10.6&The \ calculated \ height \ after\ the \ rock \ hits \ the \ ground \\3&-24.1&Calculated \ height \ after\ the \ rock \ hits \ the \ ground\end{array}

Therefore, the rock hits the ground between t = 2 seconds and t = 2.5 seconds after it is dropped.

Here we go ~

As we can see in the figure, lines m and n are parallel to each other. so we can apply Angle pair properties ~

So,

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \angle1  \cong \angle2

[ they form corresponding angle pair ]

and it's given that :

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \angle2 \cong\angle 3

therefore, by using above information. we can conclude that :

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \angle1 \cong \angle3
