Answer:

\mathbf{V =  [\dfrac{ 8 \pi }{3}] }

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

y = 6x - x² , y = 8  about  x = 2

To find the volume of the region bounded by the curves about x = 2; we have the radius of the cylindrical shell to be x - 1, the circumference to be 2 π (x -2 ) and the height to be 6x - x² - 8

6x - x² - 8

6x - x² - 8 = 0

-x² + 6x - 8 = 0

x² - 6x + 8 = 0

(x -4) (x - 2  ) = 0

So;

x = 2 , x = 4

Thus, the region bound of the integral  are from a = 2 and b = 4

Therefore , the volume of the solid can be computed as :

V = \int \limits ^b _a \ 2x \times f(x) \ dx

V = \int \limits ^4_2 2 \pi (x -2) (6x -x^2 -8) \ dx

V = 2 \pi \int \limits ^4_2 (6x^2 - x^3 -8x -12 x - 2x^2 +16)  \ dx

V = 2 \pi \int \limits ^4_2 (8x^2 -x^3-20x +16)  \ dx

V = 2 \pi \int \limits ^4_2 ( -x^3+8x^2-20x +16)  \ dx

V = 2 \pi  [\dfrac{ -x^7}{4}+\dfrac{8x^3}{3} -\dfrac{20x^2}{2} +16x]^4_2

V = 2 \pi  [\dfrac{ -(4^4-2^4)}{4}+\dfrac{8(4^3-2^3)}{3} -\dfrac{20(4^2-2^2)}{2} +16(4-2) ]^4_2

V = 2 \pi  [\dfrac{ -(256-16)}{4}+\dfrac{8(64-8)}{3} -10(16-4)} +16(2) ]

V = 2 \pi  [\dfrac{ 4}{3}]

\mathbf{V =  [\dfrac{ 8 \pi }{3}] }

Hich scenario best describes an object with a displacement of zero?
Lana71 [14]

Answer: C.  A Ball Rolls from top to the bottom of a Hill

Step-by-step explanation: In order for this to be a displacement of 0, we need a vector quantity, so we need to specify a magnitude and direction in order to fully characterize it. Unlike distance, which can only get larger on any path taken, displacement can be positive, negative, or zero. Displacement is zero when you start and end at the same spot.

Calculate the length of AC, to the nearest tenth of a centimeter.
sertanlavr [38]

Answer:

AC ≈ 11.0 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Using Pythagoras' identity in Δ CDE and Δ ADE

CE² + DE² = DC²

CE² + 7² = 8²

CE² + 49 = 64 ( subtract 49 from both sides )

CE² = 15 ( take the square root of both sides )

CE = \sqrt{15}

-------------------------------------------------------

AE² + DE² = DA²

AE² + 7² = 10²

AE² + 49 = 100 ( subtract 49 from both sides )

AE² = 51 ( take the square root of both sides )

AE = \sqrt{51}

Then

AC = AE + CE = \sqrt{15} + \sqrt{51} ≈ 11.0 cm ( to the nearest tenth )

Witch is greater -6 or 7
Firdavs [7]

Answer:

7

Step-by-step explanation:

Very easy problem once you understand "negative numbers."

"-6" is a <u>negative number.</u> A negative number is a number <u>below zero</u>. You'll know if a number is negative because it has a minus symbol (this symbol - ) before it. -6 is a negative number and below zero. 7 is a number above zero so therefore 7 is a greater number.

Here's another thing about negative numbers. Even though the number may look "bigger" (for example -7) is actually a SMALLER number than -6. The more "negative a number is" the smaller it is. Hope this helps and have a nice day!

Round 3.5679 to the nearest tenth.
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

3.6

Step-by-step explanation:

After the decimal point to the right, the first number is the 'tenths' spot. That number is the one they're asking you to round. As we know, when rounding,  the number is rounded up if it is 5 or more. Since the number in the 'hundreths' spot is above 5, the 'tenths' spot is rounded up, making 5 a 6.

So, the answer is 3.6
