We have been given an image of a circle. We are asked to find the value of each variable.

We can see that angle b corresponds to diameter of circle. We know that the measure of an angle that is inscribed to the diameter of a circle is 90 degrees . Therefore, the value of b will be 90.

we can see that angle is an inscribed angle of arc 99 degrees. We know that measure of an inscribed angle is half the measure of inscribed arc.

a=\frac{1}{2}\cdot 99

a=49.5

Therefore, the value of a is 49.5 units.

We know that measure of all angles of a triangle is 180 degrees. The measure of 3rd angle will be half the measure of c, so we can set an equation as:

a+b+\frac{1}{2}c=180

49.5+90+\frac{1}{2}c=180

139.5+\frac{1}{2}c=180

139.5-139.5+\frac{1}{2}c=180-139.5

\frac{1}{2}c=40.5

\frac{1}{2}c\cdot 2=40.5\cdot 2

c=81

Therefore, the value of c is 81.

Terry drove 310 miles in 5 hours at a constant speed. How long would it take him to drive 403 miles at the same speed?
NeX [460]
Well, first, find-out how fast he was going the first time, by dividing 310 by 5. This gives you 62 mph. Now, divide 403 miles by 62 miles per hour in order to find-out how long it would take him to drive 403 miles, if he is constantly doing 62 mph. Your final answer is six-and-a-half hours.

The weight of an object on the moon varies directly as its weight on earth. A person who weights 150.94lb on earth weighs 25.66l
Veronika [31]

109.93 lbs

since the quantities vary directly, then

w(moon) = kw(earth ) ← ( k is the constant of variation )

to find k use the given condition

k = w( moon ) / w( earth ) = \frac{25.66}{150.94}

given w(earth) = 218.24

w(moon) = \frac{25.66(218.24)}{150.94} = 109.93
