The sum of 2 numbers is 35. one number 23 more than the other. find the numbers.

Make two equations

The sum of 2 # is 35 : X+y=35

1 # 23 more than other : Y= x +23

In first equation substitute the second equation for y .

X+y =35

X+ (x+23)=35

Remove parenthesis

X+x+23= 35

Combine like terms

2x+23=35

Subtract 23 both sides

2x= 35-23

Divide both sides by 2

2x= 12

Solve 12/2

X=12/2

Answer for x

X=6

Now substitute your x answer into one original equation to solve for y.

x+y =35

6+y=35

Y= 35-6

Y= 29

To check substitute

X+y=35

29 +6 = 35

Your two numbers 29 and 6

I hope this helps

780
56°
(100°
(x + 48)°
Marta_Voda [28]

Answer:

The Question is Incomplete still What i understood I let you Explain.

x = 78°

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

m∠ A = 78°

m∠ B = 56°

m∠ C = 100°

m∠ D = (x + 48)°

Be angles of Quadrilateral.

To Find:

x = ?

Solution:

Property of a Quadrilateral sum of the measures of the angle is 360°.

∴ m∠ A + m∠ B + m∠ C + m∠ D =  360°

Substituting above given values we get

∴ 78° +56° + 100° + ( x + 48° ) = 360°

∴ x + 282° = 360°

∴ x = 360° - 282°

∴ x = 78°     ........... which the required answer

If f(x) = x^2, which of the following describes the graph of f(x) - 5?
12345 [234]
In any given equation, a positive or negative number that isn't multiplied by a variable is called "b", or "y-intercept." Seeing as y-5 (f(x) is the same as y) isn't an equation, it probably means you need to add 5 to both sides to isolate y.
you end up with y=5, a horizontal line in which every "y" value in every set of points is equal to 5
Ex: (1,5),(2,5),(3,5)...
this means that your parent function of y=0 has a vertical shift upwards of five. hope I could help :)
