Why is it useless to attempt to retaliate against the socs?
gtnhenbr [62]
It is useless to attempt to retaliate against the Socs because they are a socially privileged gang. Just for fun, Socs commit violence to greasers. Instead of being punished, they even get praised in the newspapers. So Ponyboy vowed never to get into any troubles.

If you have ever read the book "of mice and men" could you please help me?!?!?
Katen [24]
Yes, there is a theme on social justice. The author is persuading the reader through writing. She is using the children to introduce topics to the novel that might seem blunt and opinionated if it came from an adult or if the author said it directly. The setting of the story helps show that in a small town it is very easy for a certain group of people or person to be looked down upon by others.
