n = 8

the sum to n terms of a geometric sequence is

S_{n} = \frac{a(1-r^{n )} }{1-r}

where a is the first term and r the common ratio

here a = 16 and r = \frac{64}{-32} = \frac{-32}{16} = - 2

S_{n} = ( 16( 1 - ( - 2 )^n )/1 - (- 2 )) = - 1360

\frac{16}{3} ( 1 - (- 2 )^n ) = - 1360

multiply both sides by \frac{3}{16}

1 - (- 2 )^n = - 255

- (- 2 )^n = - 256

)-2)^n = 256

note that 2^{8} and (-2)^{8} = 256

hence n = 8

A) 22-2•6=?<br> B) 6-1/4•16+21 divided by 3=?<br> C ) ( 8-5) ( 5-3) to the second power=?
sergejj [24]

The question has been solved based on the assumption that • represents multiplication operation

We will follow the rule of BODMAS to solve the questions. BODMAS means we solve the expression within the bracket first, then conduct division operation, followed by multiplication, addition and subtraction.

Part A

22-2•6

Let 22-2•6 be X

⇒ X = 22 - 12 (Conducting multiplication  operation first)

⇒ X = 10 (Conducting subtraction next)

Part B

6-1/4•16+21 divided by 3 indicates that the first part of the expression ( 6-1/4•16+21) needs to be divided by 3.

Let 6-1/4•16+21 divided by 3 be Y

⇒ Y = (6-1/4•16+21) ÷ 3

⇒ Y = (6-0.25•16+21) ÷ 3 (Solving the bracket first and starting with the division operation)

⇒ Y = (6-4+21) ÷ 3 (Conducting the multiplication operation next)

⇒ Y = (6-17) ÷ 3 (Conducting the addition operation next)

⇒ Y = (11) ÷ 3 (Conducting the subtraction operation next)

⇒ Y = 3.333... (Moving out of the bracket and conducting the remaining operation)

Hence, Y = 3.333...

Part C

(8-5) (5-3) to the second power indicates that the brackets need to be solved first. Also, power operation is conducted before division or multiplication.

Let (8-5) (5-3) to the second power be Z

⇒ Z =  (3) (2) to the second power (Solving the brackets first)

⇒ Z =  (3) (2²) (Conducting the power operation next)

⇒ Z =  (3) (4)

⇒ Z =  12 (Conducting the multiplication operation next)

Hence, Z = 12.

The number of typographical errors on a page of the first booklet is a Poisson random variable with mean 0.2. The number of typo
muminat

Answer:

The required probability is 0.55404.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

The number of typographical errors on a page of the first booklet is a Poisson random variable with mean 0.2. The number of typographical errors on a page of second booklet is a Poisson random variable with mean 0.3.

Average error for 7 pages booklet and 5 pages booklet series is:

λ = 0.2×7 + 0.3×5 = 2.9

According to Poisson distribution: {\displaystyle P(k{\text{ events in interval}})={\frac {\lambda ^{k}e^{-\lambda }}{k!}}}

Where \lambda is average number of events.

The probability of more than 2 typographical errors in the two booklets in total is:

P(k > 2)= 1 - {P(k = 0) + P(k = 1) + P(k = 2)}

Substitute the respective values in the above formula.

P(k > 2)= 1 - ({\frac {2.9 ^{0}e^{-2.9}}{0!}} + \frac {2.9 ^{1}e^{-2.9}}{1!}} + \frac {2.9 ^{2}e^{-2.9}}{2!}})

P(k > 2)= 1 - (0.44596)

P(k > 2)=0.55404

Hence, the required probability is 0.55404.

Devon wants to write an equation for a line that passes through 2 of the data points he has collected. The points are (8, 5) and
iren2701 [21]
<span> If the model is good, then both points will check in the equation. Substituting 8 for </span>x <span>and 5 for </span>y<span> in the equation results in 56 – 50 = 3, which is not true. Therefore, the model is not good. Using (–12, –9) as a check results in –84 + 90 = 3. The constant value in the equation should be 6, not 3. In slope-intercept form, the </span>y<span>-intercept should be –3/5.</span>
