Orders served by Latoya, Milan and Hong are 34, 24, 96 respectively.

Solution:

Given, Latoya, Milan, and Hong served a total of 154 orders Monday at the school cafeteria.

Let orders served by Latoya ne a, orders served by Milan be b and orders served by hong be c.

Then, a + b + c = 154 ⇒ (1)

Latoya served 10 more orders than Milan, ⇒ a = b + 10

Hong served 4 times as many orders as Milan. ⇒ c = 4b

We have to find how many orders did they each serve?

Now, substitute a and c values in (1)

(b + 10) + b + 4b = 154

b + b + 4b = 154 – 10

6b = 144

b = 24

Then, a = 24 + 10 = 34 and c = 4 x 24 = 96.

Hence, orders served by Latoya, Milan and Hong are 34, 24, 96 respectively.

If the product of two positive fractions a and b is 15/56, find three pairs of possible values for a and b
Andrews [41]

Answer:

First possible pairs = (3/7)*(5/8) = 15/56

second possible pairs = (3/4)*(5/14) = 15/56

third possible pairs = (1/2)*(15/28) = 15/56

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the question,

a x b = 15/56

three possible pairs will be as follows:

Before proceeding to make possible pairs, we have to know the prime factorization of the numbers -

15 = 1, 3, 5, 15

56 = 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 14, 28, 56

As we need three possible pairs, we have to check which pairs take us to 15/56. Again, since the fraction is positive, therefore, the fractions will be proper. Therefore, 3/2, or 5/4 will not be counted. Therefore,

First possible pairs = (3/7)*(5/8) = 15/56

second possible pairs = (3/4)*(5/14) = 15/56

third possible pairs = (1/2)*(15/28) = 15/56

fourth possible pairs = (3/8)*(5/7) = 15/56

So, we can get those four possible pairs. Among those, first 3 pairs are different. Therefore, those are possible pairs.

Rearrange the equation so a is the independent variable. -3a+6b=a+4b, b=
leva [86]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that

-3a+6b=a+4b

We want to make b subject of formula

First to remove the 4b in the Right hand side of the equation

Subtract 4b from both side of the equation

-3a+6b-4b=a+4b-4b

Then we have,

-3a+2b=a

Now to remove the -3a from the left hand side of the equation add 3a to both side

Then,

-3a+2b+3a=a+3a

2b-3a+3a=4a

Then, 2b=4a

Divide both side by 2

2b/2=4a/2

b=2a.

For the inverse variation equation xy=k, what is the constant of variation,k, when x = -3and y=-2
const2013 [10]

Answer:

6

Step-by-step explanation:

xy=k

Value of k ; when ; x = - 3 and y = - 2

Put x = - 3 and y = - 2 into the equation :

(-3)(-2) = k

-3 * - 2 = k

6 = k

The constant of variation k = 6

a dealer sells a camera to a man and makes 15% profit. The man sells the camera to another man for 414$ with 10% loss. Find the
WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

$386.75

Step-by-step explanation:

First we must find the price of the camera after the man sold it, with the 10% loss.

To do this we find 10% of 414, which is 41.4 . Meaning the camera was originally bought from the dealer for $455.40, as we have to add the 10% back onto the price.

Now we find 15% of 455 and subtract it, with 15% being 68.25, the original cost was $386.75. My guy was seriously ripped off :(.
