Answer:

The barrel now is more than 1/4 full

Step-by-step explanation:

* A large barrel of oil is 1/4 full.

* Then for 7 1/2 minutes, oil is added to the barrel at a rate of

   4.5 gallons per minute.

* Then for 6 1/2 minutes, some of the oil is removed at a rate of

   -3 1/2 gallons per minute.

* We need to know The oil in the barrel now is more or less than

   1/4 full

* To know that calculate the quantity of oil added in the barrel and the

   quantity of oil removed from the barrel.

* <em>If the quantity of oil add is greater than the quantity of oil removed </em>

<em>    then, the barrel is more than 1/4 full</em>

* <em>If the quantity of oil removed is greater than the quantity of oil </em>

<em>    added then, the barrel is less than 1/4 full</em>

∵ The oil is added to the barrel at a rate of 4.5 gallons per minute

   for 7\frac{1}{2} minutes

∴ The quantity of oil add = 4.5 × 7.5 = 33.75 gallons

∵ The oil is removed from the barrel at a rate of -3.5 gallons per minute

   for 6\frac{1}{2} minutes

∴ The quantity of oil removed = -3.5 × 6.5 = -22.75 gallons

   The negative sign to know that this quantity is removed

∵ The quantity of oil add is greater than the quantity of oil removed

∴ The barrel now is more than 1/4 full

Given that AD and BC are parallel, find the value of x.
larisa [96]

Answer:

Therefore the value of x is 15.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

AD || BC

m∠ B = (9x + 15)°

m∠ A = (3x - 15)°

To Find:

x = ?

Solution:

AD || BC       ...............Given

If two lines are parallel and sum of the interior angles are supplementary.

i.e m∠ B and m∠ A are interior between Parallel lines.

∴ \angle B + \angle C =180\\

Substituting the given values we get

∴ (9x + 15)+( 3x - 15)=180\\12x=180\\\\x=\frac{180}{12} \\\\\therefore x =15

Therefore the value of x is 15.

Noah plays football. His team's goal is to score
OleMash [197]

Answer:

No

Step-by-step explanation:

We can plug in the ordered pair (6,-1) into the equation. Remember that 6 is the x coordinate therefore we plug it in for x and that -1 is the y coordinate so we should plug it in for y.

6x+3y=6(6)+3(-1)=36-3=33

Since 33 is not equivalent to 15, (6, -1) is not a solution to the equation.
