Augustus was the founder of the Roman Empire and it's first Emperor. He defeated Antony and Cleopatra at the Battle of Actium and became the ruler of Rome. He founded the Principate, which was a system of Monarchy where the Emperor rules for life. He then introduced a program of Reconstruction and Social Reform. Overall, his reign began an era of Pax Romana, or Roman peace. Hope this helps! :)

Answer:

So it was basically to prevent him from accomplishing his planned reforms, which I guess would restrict their independence?

Explanation:

Gavrilo Princip was a member of the Black Hand. They didn't want to be part of the Austro-Hungarian empire or pay taxes to them. Princip had tuberculosis and knew he was going to pass soon. He did what he did to the Archduke as a final act of "patriotism" believing he would not live long enough to receive punishment.

Why was Ptolemy's Earth-centered system of epicycles taught throughout Europe for over a thousand years?
LenKa [72]
The main reason why Ptolemy's Earth-centered system of epicycles taught throughout Europe for over a thousand years was because this fit well with the religious narrative of the day, since people could not fathom that the world was not in fact at the center of the universe, since this would imply than human being's were not the focus of God's creation.
