A solution of malonic acid, H2C3H2O4 , was standardized by titration with 0.1000 M NaOH solution. If 21.09 mL of the NaOH soluti

Answer:

Explanation:

1000cm³ = 1mL = 1dm³

C₃H₄O₄ + 2NaOH → Na₂C₃H₂O₄ + 2H₂O

0.10M = 1000cm³

x M = 21.09cm³

xM = (21.09 * 0.10) / 1000

x M = 0.002109 moles

From equation of the reaction,

1 mole of C₃H₄O₄ reacts with 2 moles of NaOH

1 mole of C₃H₄O₄ = 2 moles of NaOH

y mole of C₃H₄O₄ = 0.002109 moles of NaOH

y = ( 0.002109 * 1 ) / 2

y = 0.0010545 moles

0.0010545 moles is present in 12.30cm³

0.0010545 mole = 12.30cm³

z mole = 1000cm³

z = (0.0010545 * 1000) / 12.30

Z = 0.0857M

The molarity of malonic acid is 0.0857M

Write the balanced equation for a reaction between aqueous nitric acid (HNO3) and solid lithium metal (this is a single replacem
Lemur [1.5K]

Answer: The equation is given below.

Explanation:

Single replacement reactions are the chemical reactions in which more reactive metal displaces a less reactive metal from its chemical reaction. General equation for these reactions is given by the equation:

A+BC\rightarrow AC+B

Metal A is more reactive than metal B.

The reactivity of metals is judged with the help of reactivity series. In this series, the metals lying above are more reactive than the metals which lie below in the series.

For the reaction of solid lithium metal and nitric acid, the equation follows:

3Li(s)+4HNO_3(aq.)\rightarrow 3LiNO_3(aq.)+2H_2O(l)+NO(g)

This is a type of single replacement reaction because Lithium (more reactive metal) is replacing Hydrogen (less reactive metal) from the chemical reaction.

For the reaction, calculate how many moles of the product form when 0.016mol of O2 completely reacts. . Assume that there is mor
Oksi-84 [34.3K]
The balanced reaction is given as:

2Ca(s)+O2(g)→2CaO(s)

We are given the amount of oxygen gas to be used for the reaction. This will be the starting point of our calculations.

0.016 mol O2 ( 2 mol CaO / 1 mol O2 ) = 0.032 mol CaO

Therefore, for the reaction, the amount of calcium oxide produced is 0.032 moles.
