Answer:

c. Covered in chocolate, our guests enjoyed freshly picked strawberries.

Explanation:

Misplaced modifiers are those groups of words or phrases that are put in a sentence but do not modify the intended word. Rather, they are placed in such a way that they seem to modify an unintended thing which makes the whole sentence seem awkward.

The misplaced modifier in the given options is seen in option c where the modifier<em> "covered in chocolate"</em> is used in such a way that it seems to modify the "<em>guests</em>" rather than the intended "<em>strawberries</em>'. This makes the sentence seem like the guests were covered in chocolate and not the strawberries.

Thus, the sentence with the misplaced modifier is option c.

Give examples of why a writer would choose first- or third-person narration.
joja [24]

Answer and Explanation:

Writers may choose to use a first-person perspective in their narratives to be able to dive deeper into the narrator's feelings and thoughts. This perspective allows authors to develop the character of the narrator in a more complete manner, allowing readers to know more about him/her as they follow him/her around and "hear" everything he says or thinks. This makes for a more personal narrative.

On the other hand, writers may choose a third-person perspective to have more freedom to move around, so to speak. There are different types of third-person narration, but in general the narrator is able to accompany several characters, giving readers the opportunity to see events from different points of view. This makes for a less biased narrative, since readers are usually not limited to just one opinion or version of events.

As you read in this lesson, satire depends on the audience recognizing and agreeing with the satirist’s implicit criticism of hi
dedylja [7]
It can be because satire often presents things that the audience realizes but is unable to formulate using linguistic means or are afraid of saying them due to censorship or similar things. That's why satire can be a vessel for shaping public opinion since it expresses what everyone is thinking without people having to say it. It also helps people understand the problem even more deeply.
