The time passed between when Michelle began her first lap and finished her final lap is 7 minutes and 35 seconds ⇒ B

Step-by-step explanation:

The given is:

  • Michelle ran 4 laps around a track, while taking a break in between each lap
  • Each lap consisted of 400 meters
  • She  ran each lap at an average speed of 5 meters per second and rested for 45 seconds between each lap

We need to find how much  time passed between when Michelle began her first lap and finished her final lap

∵ She ran 4 laps

∵ She take a rest between each two laps for 45 seconds

- between the 4 laps there are 3 rests, the first is between the

  1st and 2nd laps, the second is between the 2nd and the 3rd

  laps and the third is between the 3rd and the 4th laps

∴ The time for rests = 3 × 45 = 135 seconds

∵ Each lap consisted of 400 meters

- Find the distance of the 4 laps by multiplying 4 by 400

∴ The distance of the 4 laps = 4 × 400 = 1600 meters

∵ She  ran each lap at an average speed of 5 meters per second

∵ Time = Distance ÷ speed

∴ The time of 4 laps = 1600 ÷ 5 = 320 seconds

- Find the total time passed between began her first lap and

   finished her final lap by adding the times of the 4 laps and

   the 3 rests

∴ Her total time = 135 + 320 = 455 seconds

∵ 1 minutes = 60 seconds

- Divide the time by 60 to change it to minutes

∵ 455 ÷ 60 = 7\frac{7}{12}

∴ Her total time is 7\frac{7}{12}

- Change the fraction \frac{7}{12} minute to seconds

   by multiply it by 60

∵ \frac{7}{12} × 60 = 35

∴ Her total time is 7 minutes and 35 seconds

The time passed between when Michelle began her first lap and finished her final lap is 7 minutes and 35 seconds

A movie theater has a seating capacity of 235. The theater charges $5.00 for children, $7.00 for students, and $12.00 of adults.

Hey there! :)

Answer:

118 children

58 students

59 adults

Step-by-step explanation:

We can solve this problem by setting up a system of equations:

Let a = adults

2a = children (since double the # of adults were children), and

s = students

Set up the equations:

1704 = 5(2a) + 7s + 12(a)

1704 = 10a + 7s + 12a

235 = 2a + a + s

Simplify the equations:

1704 = 22a + 7s

235 = 3a + s

Subtract the bottom equation from the top by multiplying the bottom equation by 7 to eliminate the 's' variable:

1704 = 22a + 7s

7(235 = 3a + s)

1704 = 22a + 7s

1645 = 21a + 7s

---------------------- (Subtract)

59 = a

This is the number of adults. Substitute this number into an equation to solve for the number of students:

235 = 3(59) + s

235 = 177 + s

s = 58.

Since the number of children is equivalent to 2a, solve:

2(59) = 118 children.

Therefore, the values for each group are:

118 children

59 adults

58 students.

Answer:

<DEB= 125 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

To get this, you would need to know all 2 angles of the triangle.

To find the first angle, simply do 180-107 to get 73(because supplementary angles add up to 180 degrees).

Next, 180-52(given angle)-73 to get 55 because the 3 angles of a triangle add up to 180(triangle angle sum theory).

You would see that <DEB is part of another supplementary angle so, do 180-55 to get 125.

<DEB=125 degrees.

Explain how multiplying with 6 is like multiplying with 3.
DiKsa [7]
Multiplying with 6 is like multiplying with 3 because 6 can be divided by 3. So with that being said, anything multiplied by 6, is multiplied by 3, just doubled.

Answer:

1)28.8%

2)28.8%

3)43.6%

Step-by-step explanation:

1))Probability of wining both = Probability that first contract is won* Probability that second contract is won = 0.4 * 0.72 = 0.288 = 28.8%

2)Probability of losing = 1 - Probability of winning

Probability that they will lose both contracts = Probability that first contract is lost * Probability that second contract is lost = (1 - 40/100) * (1 - 54/100) = 0.276 = 27.6%

3)Probability that any one is won = 1 - both contracts are won - both contracts are lost = 1 - 0.276 - 0.288 = 0.436 = 43.6%
