Let x be the number of standard variety and y be the number of the deluxe variety of the strawberry,

∵ Total number of strawberries = 115,

⇒ x + y = 115

⇒ x = 115 - y -----(1),

Total spending amount is $ 700, in which each standard variety costs $ 4 and deluxe variety costs $ 10,

⇒ 4x + 10y = 700 ----(2),

From equation (1),

4(115-y) + 10y = 700

460 - 4y + 10y = 700

460 + 6y = 700

6y = 240

⇒ y = 40

Again from equation (1),

x = 115 - 40 = 75

Hence, there are 75 boxes of standard varieties and 40 boxes of deluxe varieties.
