When finding the mean you add up the numbers that are needed to find the mean and divide them by the amount of numbers you added. For example question 5 you will add 58+58+62+55+49+48 which will equal 330 and then divide it by 6 because there are 6 numbers which is 55.

When 12x² + kx + 3 and 3x³ + (3k + 2)x² + 28x +17
Naily [24]

Answer:

\boxed{\sf \ \ \ k=5 \ \ \ }

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello,

We know that for a real, the polynomial P(x) divided by (x-a) the remainder is P(a)

and as

3x+2=03x=-2x=\dfrac{-2}{3}

so we need

12(\dfrac{-2}{3})^2+k(\dfrac{-2}{3})+3=3(\dfrac{-2}{3})^3+(3k+2)(\dfrac{-2}{3})^2+28\dfrac{-2}{3}+17\\ \ multiply \ by \ 9\\ 12*4-6k+27=-8+4(3k+2)-28*2*3+17*9\\ -6k+48+27=-8+12k+8-168+153\\ -6k+75=12k-15\\ 18k=75+15=90\\ k = \dfrac{90}{18}=\dfrac{15}{3}

hope this helps

Its a math test again-
Step2247 [10]

Answer:

A. t > 2.5

Step-by-step explanation:

If she wants to achieve <em>more </em>than 590, we already know the sign would be greater than (>).

All we have to do is divide 590/236, which gives us 2.5.

Therefore, she will have to ride more than 2.5 hours to reach her goal, t > 2.5

Hope this helps :)

Good luck on your test.

Assume that X is Normal with mean $ 240 and standard deviation $60 . the probability that , in a randomly selected week , Dan wi
enyata [817]

Answer:

The probability of Dan making less than $255 is 0.5987 or 59.87%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Mean = μ = $240

SD = σ = $60

We have to find the probability that Dan will make less than $255

First of all, we have to find the z-score of 255

z-score is denoted by z and is given by the formula

z = \frac{x-mean}{SD}

Here,

x = 255

Putting the values

z = \frac{255-240}{60}\\z = \frac{15}{60}\\z = 0.25

Now we have to look at the z-score table to find the probability of 0.25

P(x<255) = 0.5987

Converting into percentage

59.87%

Hence,

The probability of Dan making less than $255 is 0.5987 or 59.87%
