A plastic cube with a coin taped to its top surface is floating partially submerged in water. A student marks the level of the w

ater on the cube, and then removes the coin and tapes it to the bottom of the cube. Afterward, the student returns the cube to the water. The mark the student placed on the cube now sits___.

Answer:

(A) above the water line

Explanation:

As we know that when cube + coin system is floating in the water then the net force due to buoyancy is balanced by the weight of the object

so we will have

mg = \rho V g

so here we know that

V = displaced volume of the liquid

V = \frac{m}{\rho}

now when coin is placed at the bottom of the cube then the total mass is unchanged

so we have

V = \frac{m}{\rho}

so the volume displaced will be same

but initial total volume is displaced by the cube only after coin is placed downwards then the same volume is displaced by cube + coin both

so here the mark will above the water line

Select all that apply. Sound is a ____ wave. longitudinal transverse pressure circular
elena-s [515]
The following apply:
Sound is a LONGITUDINAL wave.
Sound is a PRESSURE wave.
Longitudinal waves are waves in which the displacement of the medium is in the same direction as or opposite direction to the direction of wave propagation. An example of longitudinal wave is sound wave. Sound wave is also considered as a pressure wave as the result of the presence of repeating patterns of high and low pressure regions moving through a medium.

Which term is undefined?
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]

The term which is considered as being undefined is referred to as a point and is therefore denoted as option A in this context.

What is a Point?

This is defined as as small round mark written on a plane which signifies the position or location of a substance. This can also be seen as a dot and is also used to separate a group of numbers such as in the case of decimals etc.

It is referred to as being undefined alongside a plane, line etc as a result of it only being explained using specific examples and descriptions unlike a segment which can be viewed and understood easily when working on the parameter.

This is therefore the reason why a point is undefined and the most appropriate choice.
