The two basic dimensions of the emotional Circumplex model proposed by Averill are valence and activation. Emotional Circumplex mode is a model which is used to show how different sets of emotions were related along a continuum. A circumcision model is perfect at the different emotional states because they can all be represented with their kinship relationships.

This type of model serves three purposes:

1. It is an illustrated representation of a category of data.

2. This provides an area on which the relationship between different variables can be observed.

3. Objects can be positioned equally to show uniformity and accuracy.

The basic dimensions of the emotional circumplex model proposed by Averill are activation and valence.

Further explanation:

Emotional circumplex model is a model which shows that how an individual’s different sets of emotions are related to continuum. There are two basic dimensions, which are, valence and activation. Valence denotes how positive or negative an individual emotion is while activation denotes about the arousal of an emotion.

ACTIVATION AND VALENCE

The two terms, valence and activation, are often confused by people. The difference between these two dimension is simple. Valence describes negative or positive affectivity while activation measures that how exciting or calming the information is.

The emotional circumplex model have three purposes, which are as follow:

1. It is a representation of data through the picture, that is, pictorial representation.

2. The items should be spaced equally to show precision and uniformity.

Sophie [7]
This best illustrates unit bias. Unit bias is the idea that people want to have a complete unit of something, no matter what the size of it is. For example, people will consider a 12 oz soda one unit, and a 24 oz soda one unit, even though these are two different sizes of the same object. The guests at Judy's party saw the half cupcakes and weren't satisfied with the idea of not having a whole unit.
