f(x) = x² + 7

g(x) = -3x + 1

h(x) = 12/x

j(x) = 2x + 9

a.  g(10) = -3(10) + 1 = -20

b. f(3) = 3² + 7 = 9 + 7 = 16

c. h(-2) = 12/(-2) = -6

d. j(7) = 2(7) + 9 = 23

e. h(a) = 12/a

f. g(b+c) = -3(b+c) + 1 = -3b - 3c + 1

g. f(h(x)) = f(12/x) = (12/x)² + 7 = 7 + 144/x²

h. 16 = g(x) = -3x + 1,    -3x = 15,   x = -5

i. -2 = h(x) = 12/x,    x = 12/(-2),  x = -6

j.  23 = f(x) = x²+7,   16=x²,   x=±4

To answer this you can use a guess and check strategy.

Start with 5 minutes using it (25% lost) and 10 minutes charging (20% gained).

Try 7 minutes using it (35% lost) and 14 minutes charging (28%).

Next, 9 minutes (45%) and 18 minutes(36%).

10 minutes (50%) and 20 minutes (40%). This is the difference.

She used it for 10 minutes and charged it for 20 minutes.

2. If you used the 23 cm basketball as your Moon sphere, how big
castortr0y [4]

Ok so I heard this question a few times already and couldn't remember how it went so I decided to put my brain to the test, I used my algebra to use and complete it.

If the Earth were shrunk down to the size of a basketball (radius:4.69 inches) the Moon would be a tennis ball (radius: 1.2768 inches, to be exact) 23.5 feet away.

The Sun would be a 42.6-foot sphere (source) located 1.7 miles away.

The closest star, Proxima Centauri, would still be 463,151 miles away – almost twice the distance of the actual moon."
