Some autoimmune diseases show a positive correlation with dramatically decreased expression of histone deacetylase (HDAC9, an en

zyme that removes acetyl groups from histones). Why would the decreased expression of HDAC9 cause immune cells to produce inflammatory genes at inappropriate times?

Answer:

The positive charge of the histone proteins get reduced due to the process of histone acetylation, thus making the wrapping of DNA around the histones less tightened. The loose connected DNA afterward associates with the transcription factors for the articulation of the genes situated in that area.

Generally, when there is no requirement of gene anymore, the acetyl groups from the histones get withdrawn by the activity of histone deacetylase enzyme (HDAC9) that makes the DNA tightly wrapped and inaccessible again. In case, when less expression of histone deacetylase enzyme occurs, the process of deacetylation fails to take place. This indicates that within an immune cell, at the time of infection, the inflammatory gene, which was made available does not get re-wrapped firmly around the histones.

Nematodes and arthropods both _____. _____ Select one: a. develop an anus from the blastopore (pore) formed in the gastrula stag
Zina [86]

Answer:d

Explanation:nematodes are round worms.they live in sea ,land or freshwater habitat.they have an hydrostatic skeleton for movement. They possess a flexible and non-cellular cuticle. They are known for shedding their cuticle. This process is necessary for their growth.an example of nematode is the hookworm.

Arthropods are the most diverse phylum in the animal kingdom.they have jointed appendages and an exoskeleton containing chitin.they may be segmented into head and truck, head, thorax and abdomen or cephalothorax and abdomen.they tend to shed of their exodkeleton during the process of metamorphosis . examples of arthropods include ticks, cockroaches

On a global scale, energy _____ ecosystems whereas chemical elements _____ ecosystems. see concept 55.1 (page 1237) on a global
Kay [80]
The choices for this question are:
-is biologically magnified in ... are recycled in
-is dissipated in ... flow through
-flows through ... are recycled in
-is continuously supplied to ... are continuously removed from
-is recycled in ... flow through

On a global scale, energy flows through ecosystems whereas chemical elements are recycle in ecosystems. So the answer is the third option.

Energy flows through the ecosystem. Most energy comes from sunlight and it is transformed into chemical energy by autotrophs. When they are consumed by heterotrophs the energy is passed on, until it dissipates as heat.

Chemical elements like carbon and nitrogen, on the other hand, are cycled between biotic and abiotic factors in an ecosystem. This is not possible for energy. These chemical elements come from abiotic factors like the air, light and soil. They are incorporated in the biomass of the photosynthetic organisms and are consumed by other organisms. They are changed back into their inorganic form when the organism dies and are broken down by decomposers and the cycle goes on. So they are constantly being recycled.

In summary, energy needs a continuous source to be able to maintain and sustain the energy flow in the ecosystem. Chemical elements, on the other hand, are just recycled through processes between abiotic factors and biotic factors.
