Answer:

1.The reaction is exothermic .

2.

  • Decrease the temperature or remove heat
  • Add a catalyst
  • Increase the surface area of reactants.

Explanation:

1.

As we observed , the reading in the thermometer changes from 27°C to 35°C.

Which means, heat is released when the reaction(displacement reaction) proceeds in the forward direction. - as in to raise the temperature .

Thus it is an exothermic reaction.

2.

According to Le-Chatelier's principle ,

In a reaction , as we increase the temperature or heat , the reaction moves in the direction that consumes or uses the heat.

  • Thus, an exothermic reaction moves backward when temperature is increased and moves forward as temperature is decreased.
  • By adding a catalyst , the reaction happens faster because of the efficiency of catalyst.
  • By increasing the surface area of the molecules, the collision between the molecules happen faster and effectively thus increasing the speed of the reaction.

The double replacement reaction between calcium nitrate (Ca(NO3)2) and potassium oxide (K2O ) is shown below:
Llana [10]

Answer:

Mass = 2.355 g

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of K₂O needed = ?

Mass of KNO₃ produced = 5.00 g

Solution:

Chemical equation:

K₂O + Ca(NO₃)₂     →   CaO +  2KNO₃

Number of moles of KNO₃:

Number of moles = mass/molar mass

Number of moles = 5.00 g/ 101.1 g/mol

Number of moles = 0.05 mol

now we will compare the moles of KNO₃ and K₂O.

               KNO₃           :             K₂O

                  2                :               1

                 0.05           :           1/2×0.05 = 0.025 mol

Mass of potassium oxide needed in gram:

Mass = number of moles × molar mass

Mass = 0.025 mol × 94.2 g/mol

Mass = 2.355 g

In a chemical reaction, an iron atom became the ion fe2 . what happened to the iron atom?
padilas [110]
An iron atom has a charge of zero. It's charge increases to 2+. Due to the increase in oxidation state, the atom is said to be oxidised. Oxidation occurs when an atom loses electrons.
Hence, the answer is (a).

The mass number of 3 isotopes of magnesium are 24,25,26.what is the mass number of the most abundant isotope of magnesium.
Anarel [89]

Answer:

24.4 amu or g/mole

Explanation:

24 x 0.790 = 19.0 amu

25 x 0.100 = 2.50 amu

26 x 0.110 = 2.86 amu

(Because of the 19.0, the sig figs go only to the 1/10 decimal place)

19.0 + 2.5 + 2.9 = 24.4 amu or g/mole
