Answer:

The question lacks options, the options are:

a) varieties

b) phenotypes

c) genotypes

d) factors

e) alleles

The answer is B (phenotypes)

Explanation:

The phenotype of an organism refers to all observable traits it possesses. It refers to the physical characteristics of an organism as opposed to the content of its genes called genotype. Although, the traits an organism expresses is largely dependent on what is contained in its genome i.e. genotype determines phenotype.

Observable traits includes colour (yellow and green as mentioned in the question), height (tall or short), shape (round or wrinkled). An organism like plant will show or express a yellow colour (phenotype) when the yellow allele of the colour coding gene in its genetic makeup (genotype) is dominant.

Learning Task No. 2: Copy and complete each statement. Choose from the
Lunna [17]

Answer:

1. Aorta

2. Left atrium

3. Right ventricle

4. The pulmonary artery

5. Left ventricle.

Explanation:

The aorta is the main artery of the body that carries the oxygen-rich blood to all the body parts except the lungs from the left ventricle. It is divided into main coronary arteries or blood vessels.

The left atrium is one of the heart chambers, it is located in the upper part of the heart on the right side that receives the oxygenated blood from the lungs through the pulmonary vein.

The right ventricle is the chamber of the heart that pumps the deoxygenated blood to the pulmonary valve to MPA to the lungs to get oxygenated.

The pulmonary artery or the main PA (MPA) carries the oxygen-depleted blood from the right ventricle into the lungs, where blood becomes oxygenated.

The Left ventricle is the thickest muscle chamber of the heart responsible for the pumping oxygen-rich blood to the circulatory system and to the body through the aorta.

How has waste leaving a cell affected its surface area to volume ratio?
lapo4ka [179]

The important point is that the surface area to the volume ratio gets smaller as the cell gets larger and as volume increases, surface area to volume ratio decreases. The larger a cell, the less easily it can get rid of waste and it also has more trouble getting water, nutrients and gases in. That is why we do not see giant cells. Instead we see multiple cells in larger organisms.

One way to increase surface area is to flatten the cell. That is why red blood cells are flat discs, instead of spheres. Another way is elongation. That is why many bacteria are rod shaped, and why neurons are elongated. In fact, the human body relies on the same principle to adapt to climate. Long tall and lean folks with long arms and legs live in East Africa, because such shapes increase surface area to get rid of excess body heat to avoid heat strokes. Europeans and Asians adapted to cold climates, in contrast, have shorter arms and legs and rounder torsos to minimize surface area. to conserve body heat.

The work of Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace on the origin of the Earth's species extended the ideas of Lyell's uniformitariani
Morgarella [4.7K]

The work of Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace

Explanation:

C) uniform modification of genetic traits over long periods of time.

The theory of uniformitarianism states that the natural phenomena and laws that are bringing about changes in the today's world are functioning in the same rate since the geological times. This idea of uniformitarianism was linked to biological sciences because according to Darwin and Wallace's observation, the uniform modification of genes among the population brought about the species diversity on the Earth.
