A company makes a profit when it brings in more money
Rom4ik [11]

Answer: There are 1490 items must be sold for the company to make a profit.

Explanation:

Since we have given that

R(x)=220x\\\\C(x)=190x+44700

So, According to question, we get :

Profit=R(x)-C(x)\\\\Profit=220x-(190x+44700)\\\\Profit=30x-44700

As  we know that

P(x)=0\\\\30x-44700=0\\\\30x=44700\\\\x=\dfrac{44700}{30}\\\\x=1490

So, there are 1490 items must be sold for the company to make a profit.

The workers usually were lured by the promise of high wage.

But here's the thing, in company town, a source of living usually can only obtained in a company store, and the cost is really high.

So instead of getting a high wage, the workers trapped in huge debt to the company, creating some sort of slavery that they have to work to pay off their debt to the company
